1. Eligibility: Contest open to all high school and college students of the United States. All participants must possess a valid 1997-98 student ID. Non-compliance with the deadlines contained herein will result in disqualification. All eligible contestants will be notified by e-mail. Contestants who do not attend the Contest and Award Ceremony upon notification by A-web Internet will forfeit qualification of entry. By acceptance of prize, winner(s) agree to the use of their name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising or promotion without further compensation. Employees and intermediate family of A-web Internet and participating judges of the judging panel are not eligible.
2. To Enter: Fill in the above form and send to " A-web Internet Services, c/o 1998 Chinese New Year CWDC" 401 Broadway, Suite 203, New York, NY 10013, or e-mail us at newyear@aweb.com. Entries sent to A-web Internet through postal service must include this entry form. For entries sent to A-web Internet by e-mail, all files including this entry form must be compressed using a program such as PKzip or WINzip. (This entry form can be found on www.aweb.com/newyear) One entry per student, no exceptions. All entries containing any viruses will be rejected and will not be returned to sender. All files must have file names no longer than 8 characters, such entries will result in disqualification. All entries must be received by January 16, 1998. All entries become exclusive property of A-web Internet and will not be returned. A-web Internet will not be responsible for any lost, mutilated, late, incomplete, postage-due or misdirected entries. A-web Internet reserves the right to cancel this contest at any time with appropriate notice. All entries may be posted on the Internet by A-web Internet with appropriate acknowledgement.
3. Webpage Design Guidelines: The theme of the website entry must be for the 1998 Chinese Lunar New Year. All entries must be in html format. All webpages must be supported by the Netscape 3.0 and Internet Explorer 4.0 browsers. Entries must not require any special browsers to view, such as Chinese software and/or plug-ins. All entries must include two pages.
4. Prizes: 18 Final Contestants shall be selected from all valid entries received. Entries will be judged from a screening panel within A-web Internet by the following criteria: (i) Theme; (ii) Design; (iii) Creativity; (iv) Content; (v) Loading Time; (vi) Easy Navigation and Layout. All eligible Contestants will be notified by e-mail. Contest and Award Ceremony to be held on or about January 23, 1998. Final Contestants shall be judged from a judging panel with the following criteria: (i) Theme; (ii) Design; (iii) Creativity; (iv) Content; (v) Loading Time; (vi) Easy Navigation and Layout; (vii) Presentation. . All Final Contestants will also be required to give a 3-minute introduction of their entry during the course of the contest. Grand Prize winner will receive a $1,000 check from A-web Internet. Second Prize winner will receive a $600 check from A-web Internet. Third Prize winner will receive a $300 check from A-web Internet. Prize(s) are non-transferable. No substitutions of prize(s) are allowed. A-web Internet will not be responsible for any taxes that winner(s) might incur on receipt of prize.
